Families in one metro town might get their routines shaken up.  They're re–drawing the lines for where kids go to school next year for Johnston elementary schools.

A committee of just more than thirty principals, parents and staff drew the new plans.

In the Middle School auditorium Tuesday night, that committee and Johnston Schools presented the idea to parents.

One parent who disagrees with the plan is David Knudsen who's son attends Horizon Elementary, go two schools farther away to Wallace Elementary.  Taking him out of his neighborhood and across town.

"Everybody else is kind of in their neighborhood and the yellow was going to catch everybody else to go to a different school.  Regardless of geography," says Knudsen, pointing to a map of the redrawn districts

Committee members say there were no such intentions. They are just dealing with two schools are at capacity.

The final decision will be January 27th.  The Superintendent says that could be dragged out if necessary.
