Online and Cyber Monday shoppers have increased online shopping by 20% in 2013. That means shoppers are keeping delivery companies very busy.

UPS knows that it's the busiest time of the year, but it's already busier than the last. Christmas is only two weeks away and there are still millions of packages to deliver. Nationwide, they'll deliver 300 packages every second.

Trucks are filled at 3 a.m. and the trucks roll out of the building by 9.

"The last thing you want to do is get behind,be cause then it all snow balls and you don't have enough hours in the day," said Randy Ervin, UPS.

Here in Iowa, drivers are working 12 hour days on snow covered roads.

"I get used to that certain pace, where you don't want to lose time. It's just quick, quick, quick," said Derek Fine, a UPS driver. "It's a unique challenge. We really have to work hard, get through it and remember you're going to be later. Safety's the most important thing."

Drivers climb in and out of their trucks 250 times a day, depending on how many packages they are carrying. Des Moines drivers have already set a season record delivering 60,000 packages in one day.

"This time of year, the drivers really take a lot of pride in taking care of those packages because they know it's not just a package. It's someone's personal gift," said Ervin.

"I went up to one door, and a lady came out. She said, "Oh my gosh, that's my swim suit! I was just getting ready to head to the airport on vacation!" So, I thought that was kind of neat," said Fine.

They'll deliver up until the very last minute.

"Even Christmas Eve we'll be delivering packages. To show up at a door at 5 or 6 on Christmas Eve with a package that a parent wants to give a child on Christmas morning, you just see the sparkle in their eye," said Ervin.  "In that regards, yes, we enjoy being Santa's little helpers."
