The government shut down closed the gates around Saylorville Lake, and closed out fishers, campers and boaters for more than two weeks.

But the shutdown is over.

Sixteen slow days at Johnson Bait and Tackle, sped up Thursday.  Customers pulled up and came through the doors, to buy Darcy Olson.

The shutdown blocked fishers from spending several thousands of dollars at Darcy's cash register.

Business has picked up, because the formerly furloughed Army Corps of Engineers at Saylorville are back to work and the fishing spots are back open.

Catching up on lost time, the regulars caught buckets-full of fish at the outflow.

That's what Darcy hopes, just so they stop over to see her on the way there.

"They took away two prime weeks so we're just glad it's back," says Olson.

There's one campsite around Saylorville is still open.

Prarieflower campground is open until Monday, until it closes for the winter.
