Cedar Rapids' Zach Johnson closed his most-lucrative seven-day stretch of golf winnings Sunday.
Johnson earned $1,440,000 last Monday for winning the BMW Championship in suburban Chicago. His seventh-place finish Sunday in Atlanta's Tour Championship. That netted him $264,000 and put him over the $4 million mark on the PGA Tour for the second-straight year.
Then factor in Johnson's fifth-place finish in the FedExCup standings, which was good for a $1 million bonus.
Add that up, and you have a cool $2,704,000.

What a summer for the mighty ‘Z.' In his last eight Tour events, he finished eighth or higher seven times. In a mathematical oddity, over the last four months he had one first-place finish, one second, one third, one fourth, one fifth, one sixth, one seventh, and one eighth.
His high finish in the FedExCup came missing the first of the four playoff tourneys because he was the best man in his brother Gabe's wedding.
Johnson's previous-best finishes in the FedExCup were sixth in 2009, seventh in 2007, and 12th last year.
Earlier this month, he qualified for the United States Presidents Cup team. That event will be contested against the International team in Dublin, Ohio, on Oct. 4-6.
