For the football fans who couldn't make it to Iowa City or Ames today, the fans brought the party to Des Moines.

"You wait all year for it, the second it ends, the count down begins for the next season," Jason Delair, Iowa State fan.

"I'm always so pumped for this day, I love football better than Christmas," Caleb Schaffer, Iowa State fan.

Bars and restaurants all over the metro were packed with fans yelling and cheering at the TV's.

Owners said they stocked up on extra drinks and food just in case the crowds were large.
"We've had a lot of attention here for tonight's game just because it's sold out so we should have a nice crowd tonight," said Ryan Greening, owner of the Keg Stand.

"I had a great time today, we have Iowa fans here, it's been so awesome, it's been fairly busy, we'd like more people to come out and have a good time at the Front Row, it's always a good time here," said Schaffer, also a bartender at Front Row.

Even when the Hawkeye's and Cyclones aren't playing each other, fans aren't afraid to make some season predictions.

"It's not a prediction, Iowa State is going to win," said Delair, "I see bowl game, really the first week sets the tone for the rest of the season, come out and your team doesn't play they way you expected, you're worried the rest of the season, but they come and knock it out you know what you're expecting and you've got good hopes the rest of the year."

"10–2 guaranteed, I promise you that, I've been saying that all off season, you heard it here first 10–2," said Josh Henss, an Iowa fan.
