Fresh off last year's Big 12 title, Kansas State has some huge holes to fill on both sides of the ball, including Heisman candidate Collin Klein.
"You never really replace a person and quarterback like Collin Klein," said Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder.
Like so many other Big 12 teams, the Wildcats have a tight quarterback race going between sophomore Daniel Sams and Iowa Western Community College transfer Jake Waters.
"As far as personnel is concerned, we still haven't decided on a quarterback yet, and it's a very tigt race so far," said Snyder.
The Wildcats do return all five starting offensive lineman, as well as 900 yard rusher John Hubet, so the cupboard on offense isn't entirely bare.
"Everybody knows every position on the offensive line, and that's just the way Coach Snyder expects it to be, so that if one guy goes down, we can sub in and not miss a beat," said Wildcats offensive lineman, .
Kansas State must replace defensive leader Arthur Brown, but finally-healthy Tre Walker and multiple-All-Big 12 honoree Ty Zimmerman should keep the Cats' defense stingy again
"Every year the dynamics of your team change, and replacing a guy like Arthur Brown is very hard to do, but you just ask the new guys to step-up and do what they know how to do," said Wildcats safety Ty Zimmerman.
