Second-ranked Clear Lake, making just
its third summer state baseball tournament appearance, won its first
title in the sport with a 6-2 win over Davenport Assumption in the Class
3-A finals at Principal Park.
The Lions took advantage of their first trip back to the tournament in a decade and helped Cerro Gordo County claim its second title of the day following Mason City Newman's title in Class 1-A.
Trailing 2-0, Clear Lake exploded for five runs in the fourth inning, sending 10 hitters to the plate.
