Some people do the parades, some people do the backyard cookouts, but for the regulars out at Saylorville, there's really only one way to celebrate July 4th.

"Definitely have to be out on the lake, we come out here every year," said one Saylorville boater.

Flags were lined up on boats out at the lake. The people out at Saylorville say it's the best way to spend the holiday.

They packed the dock and the beaches on Thursday to wish America a happy birthday. The waves and the flags are just part of what makes the fourth different than any other holiday.

The nice weather is what people say makes it one for the water.

Boaters had a lot of responses to the nice day on the lake:

"If you have great weather on the fourth there's so many things to do, and being at the lake would be number one."
