This week, kids gathered at Evelyn Davis Park for their summer art program created by the After School Arts Program.

The program usually brings in 100 children a day and the theme this summer was "Jazz." Some of the activities involved learning about dance, jazz instruments and painting pictures. The kids also painted three giant murals that were over ten feet in length.

"They love the opportunity to try a number of things they don't normally get to try. We bring nice quality paints and set up easels and let them just have their way and they have a whole series of adults waiting on them, giving them everything they need," said Michelle Bolton King, Executive Director of After School Arts Program.

The camp will give the murals to the park for the annual "July Days."
