Police charged two men for their involvement in a shooting last Wednesday at Jordan Park on Des Moines' Southeast side.

Floyd Frank Ezell Jr, 24, is charged with causing willful injury and Taylor Gruis, 17, was charged for firing a gun to intimidate people.

According to police, Ezell shot a teenager and sent him to the hospital.

The two were at the park for a fight between two others.

"One of the guys started losing, and he called for help from his friends," said Sgt. Jason Halifax, Des Moines P.D.

Ezell and Gruis, according police, then fired their guns.

Witnesses led detectives to Ezell and Gruis.  Officers are still searching for suspects in a drive-by shooting that happened moments after they arrived on the scene at Jordan Park.

They believe the two cases are related.

Ezell was released on Monday.
