Addie Olson - ABC5 News Des Moines, IA

Addie Olson

Addie Olson joined the ABC 5 News Team in January of 2013. Hailing from the southeast corner of the state, Addie grew up in the river town of Burlington, Iowa.

She graduated from Burlington Community High School in 2009 and went on to Iowa State University. Addie graduated from ISU in December of 2012 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Political Science.

During her time at Iowa State, she worked as a producer and reporter for the student-run station, ISUtv. She also served as the Director of Digital Media for the Iowa State Daily, and interned for the Cyclone sports network, Cyclones.tv. She had the opportunity to work for CBS's Face the Nation during the Ames Straw Poll, and spent a summer in Italy studying multimedia journalism.

A dedicated Iowa State fan, Addie loves rooting on the Cyclones in her free time. She also enjoys reading, playing volleyball, and running with her Siberian husky, Remus.

Addie appreciates the opportunity to tell the stories of fellow Iowans right here in Des Moines as a reporter for ABC 5. She hopes to take in all that the metro has to offer, and remain involved in her community.
