After a woman from the metro called in with a tip, police Sunday night found a missing girl and her boyfriend.

12 year old Karina Rodriguez-Resendiz had been missing since February 8th.

She was last seen when her parents dropped her off at Meredith Middle School.  The school called the family when she didn't show up for attendance.  She's been missing with her 18 year old boyfriend Sergio Lopez.

The two were found in a house on the southeast side of Des Moines.  Police don't know where and what they were doing for the several weeks they were gone, but say the information from the community helped the search.

"We had it on our facebook page.  We had numerous people on our facebook page talking about it.  Not certain if this person saw the facebook coverage or the press release on the TV.  But obviously when you look at this kind of result shortly after the press release, you really have to think that was the impotence for this recovery," says Sgt. Jason Halifax.

Karina's boyfriend Sergio Lopez was wanted for not showing up to court on a sexual assault charge.

He is now also charged with breaking a no-contact order with 12-year old Rodriguez-Resendiz.  Lopez is currently being held in the Polk County Jail.
