For many Iowans, snow piles can be seen as a real pain. But for one local business, snow is its business.
The people who work and play at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Park... they just love it.
Long lines are a sign of a successful season. People all day Thursday came through and picked either skis or snowboards then geared up and hit the slopes.
Owner Rick Flatt is happy this year that they don't have to make snow anymore, they get it for free. Sleepy Hollow is ahead of where it was last year because of all this white powder on the ground.
"I think most importantly it just puts it in their mind to go out and enjoy it. We had plenty of snow last season but we had a hard time convincing people of it because they didn't have any of it in their back yard. But now that they have it and see it, they're excited about going out and doing something," says Flatt.
For students out of school for winter break, Sleepy Hollow is open every day.
