Des Moines plows are putting in long hours to clear the city's streets.
Cold temperatures and the sheer amount of snow has made it tough for crews to clean up the mess from this week's snow storm. Finally, on Saturday, the sun helped things look a little brighter.
"We're appreciative of the sun being out and these warm temperatures," said Chuck Burrell, Des Moines Public Works. "It's really helping us."
According to Burrell, crews will start putting de-icer on residential streets, and will re-plow any areas that need it.
