Grocery stores were a madhouse Wednesday evening.  At the Dahl's off Hickman Road and 156th Street in Clive, shoppers jammed the checkout lanes buying last minute items anticipating tonight's storm.

"You're seeing a lot of comfort foods today," said store manager Paul Johnson.  "I'm seeing a lot of pizzas, chips, a lot of backing, holiday baking.  People may be anticipating being home tomorrow (Thursday) possibly, you know, to do baking...a lot of things for the weekend."

"I've been shopping literally all day," said Clive resident Quashelle Christi.  "I kept going home and I'd say ooh, 'I forgot that.'  And then I was just thinking, you know, Christmas, so I've been shopping all day."

Johnson says he expects the opposite on Thursday.  Empty stores.
