To be ready for the winter driving season, there are some ways to get your car in the best shape possible.
O'Reilly Auto Parts in Urbandale saw a constant flow of people coming in Wednesday.
The most popular buys were wiper blades and washer fluid. Those are important to make sure you can see the road clearly. If your wipers are just going to smear around the snow, you need a new set.
They say to make sure your lights are all working and check your tire tread. Also make sure your tires are properly inflated.
Batteries have also been a top seller.
"In the winter time make sure you got a good charging system in your vehicle, it's in good condition, your battery, your alternator and so on," said Arthur Cunningham of O'Reilly Auto Parts. "You don't want to get out somewhere and get stranded because you got a dead battery."
"My wife had mentioned that one blade wasn't cleaning well before the storm. I figured just get it done," said Brian Donoho of Urbandale, although he waited until the snow starting falling. "I'm known for that. Don't do it until you have to."
Keeping your gas tank full is also recommended.
