Gunshots blasted through a Des Moines neighborhood last night, leaving one man in critical condition.

Police got a call about gunfire just after 11 pm last night.

While they were on their way to the scene, they got another call from Broadlawns Hospital, saying that 31 year old Rashad Adair was dropped off at the emergency room with six gun shot wounds - at least one of them to the head.

Police say Adair and two others were sitting in a parked car at 14th and Washington when a man wearing a black hoodie and a ski mask walked up and shot the car.

Adair was sitting in the drivers seat. The other two witnesses were not hurt; they drove Adair to the hospital.

He remains in critical condition and police are hoping he can eventually give them more information on the shooter.

"He's done well enough to come through this point, hopefully he can come through the rest of his surgery or whatever repairs and medications or surgeries or medical assistance he needs to give us information so we can hopefully to get an arrest of the case," says Sgt. Jason Halifax from Des Moines P.D.

Neighbors said Friday that there hasn't been any gunfire recently in the neighborhood.
If you have information regarding the shooting, please call Police.
