Man Killed In Collision With Semi

THOR, Iowa (AP) - A 35-year-old Bode man is dead following the collision of a car and semitrailer south of Thor in north-central Iowa.

Mathias Berte was pronounced dead at the scene of the Friday afternoon crash.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened at the intersection of two Humboldt County roads. The patrol says Berte failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of a semi loaded with livestock feed.

The truck driver, 35-year-old Kevin Nichols of Fort Dodge, was injured and taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
