DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A 20-year-old Des Moines man has been arrested, accused of damaging the popular Jolly Holiday Lights display at Water Works Park in Des Moines.

The Des Moines Police Department says Justin Arey has been charged with felony criminal mischief.

Police say a car was seen exiting the park about 3 a.m. Sunday, leaving behind $25,000 to $30,000 in damage to several displays.

A license plate was found among the damaged displays. Police say officers used the plate in tracing Arey to his home and arresting him.

A public phone listing for Arey couldn't be found. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney in the case.

Donations made by viewers of the Jolly Holiday Lights go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes of sick children.
