Phil Prazan - ABC5 News Des Moines, IA

Phil Prazan

Phil Prazan joined ABC 5 in January 2012 as a multi-media journalist.  Phil was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and was very active at Omaha North High School.  Looking to explore outside the Midwest, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Radio-Television-Film and a minor in French Language.

During his time in college Phil interned twice at KEYE CBS Austin.  While studying for a semester in Paris, France, he followed the Paris fashion week as a paparazzi for stormshadow.tv.  He finished college by attending the University of Texas at Los Angeles, a transition program into the entertainment industry.  Living in LA, he worked for Tom Jennings Productions on historical documentaries such as "Sky Soldier" and "MLK: The Assassination Tapes" seen on the Smithsonian Channel.

Now in Des Moines, Phil looks forward to exploring the town and taking advantage of everything it has to offer.  If he's not running or playing sports outside, he's inside reading a book or watching a historical documentary.  Phil loves to learn as much as possible about the environment he's in, so he will fit in well at ABC 5 News.
