DES MOINES--Occupy protestors have focused their attention on a new location, President Obama's Iowa headquarters, and they say the only way they're leaving is if their demands are met or in police car.
Occupy protestors started bringing tents and signs Saturday. By Sunday afternoon the entire front of the Obama headquarters in Des Moines was covered.
"I would like to have my grievances and the grievances of my friends delivered directly to the staff of the president's campaign," said protestor Kelly Griffins."
Police were on the scene throughout the day. The property they have planted their belonging down on is private property. A staffer from the Obama headquarters came down and talked with the crowd in hopes they would leave the area, but they didn't. Occupiers say this is the only way their voice is going to be heard.
"We are citizens of the United States who have no other way to get our voice heard right now," Griffins said. "We can't afford lobbyist, so we have to be our own lobbyists and the lobbyist job is to go to the candidates and the politicians and advocate on the behalf of issues and people."
Sunday evening police were waiting on a decision from the property owner that would determine if the protestors needed to be removed or not. As of now no arrests have been made.
