COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Iowa authorities say a Pennsylvania man faces drug charges after a deputy pulled his car over for speeding and found 56 pounds of marijuana in two suitcases.

The Pottawattamie (paht-uh-WAHT'-uh-mee) County sheriff's office says 25-year-old Mark Zimmerman of Morrisville, Pa., was arrested Saturday on Interstate 80 near Council Bluffs.

Sgt. Dwayne Riche says a deputy found the pot during the stop.

Zimmerman was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He was taken to the Pottawattamie County jail. Jail officials say Zimmerman was released Monday.

The sheriff's office on Tuesday didn't know whether Zimmerman had hired an attorney.
