Iowa trucker accused of sexual abuse in Missouri

Updated:

JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities in Joplin, Mo., have ordered an Iowa truck driver to stand trial on a charge that he sexually abused a 10-year-old girl in 2006 while hauling a hazardous-materials load through Jasper County.

The trucker, 41-year-old Charles Ragsdale of Waukee, Iowa, was ordered bound over for trial on a charge of first-degree statutory sodomy after a preliminary hearing last week in Jasper County Circuit Court.

The alleged victim, who is now 14 and lives in another Missouri county, told the court that Ragsdale took her with him on an over-the-road haul in March 2006. She testified that during the trip from Missouri to Kansas and back, they stopped in Jasper County, and he molested her inside the cab of his truck rig.
