DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say eight cows that escaped from a trailer after a collision in northeast Iowa have been rounded up.

The Dubuque County sheriff's office says the accident happened Thursday on U.S. 20 near Peosta (pee-AH'-stuh) when a pickup truck pulling the trailer was hit from behind by another vehicle.

The driver of the pickup, 66-year-old William Walsh, lost control of the truck, and both vehicles rolled in the median.

Authorities say the cattle wandered down the road, and were later corralled.

Walsh was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers also were treated for minor injuries.
