FORT DODGE, Iowa -- Authorities are investigating a deadly house fire in Fort Dodge.

Officials say one person was found dead inside the burning home Monday night. The person's name was not immediately released.

Neighbor Mary Worrick says she heard sirens shortly before 9 p.m. When she went outside to investigate, she saw smoke billowing from the front and back of the one-story home.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
