Today will start off right where yesterday left off with some clouds and drizzle. Don't worry though, it will become partly sunny by this afternoon and better weather is ahead... for a little while anyway!
Highs today will stay in the upper 60s and low 70s thanks to the morning clouds. I expect partial clearing by 11 a.m. to noon here in central Iowa and this afternoon should be great!
Tonight gets a bit chilly with light winds, dry air and some patchy valley fog. Highs tomorrow will get into the low 70s for most folks. Eastern Iowa may stay in the 60s. Showers and some thunderstorms will wander into western Iowa by the late evening hours, and that sets the stage for a stormy holiday weekend.
Overnight showers and storms will linger into the morning hours on Saturday. Some folks right here in central Iowa may not be able to shake these heavy thunder-soakers until after noon. The evening looks relatively "dry" but the ground will become water-logged and we're talking about the possibility of flooding in central Iowa.
Have a great day!
